A little tip: Borrow from your future self. Imagine you, ten years into the future, having achieved everything you want in life. The money, the partner, the house, the company – everything. How would that version of you approach that big meeting? How would that version of you feel when you wake up? How would that version of you structure your day? For the rest of this week, I want you to think and act like billionaire you. It costs nothing. But it could change everything.

BIG MONEY ENERGY: HE'S GOT IT!

David was the captain of his high school TV quiz team back in Minnesota, but he didn’t move to Hollywood and become a big-time producer.

Instead, he got a degree in engineering and launched a series of software and gaming companies.

In 2005, he launched Roblox, a 3-D video game platform for kids. The idea was to create a next-level, immersive entertainment experience that could be used via smartphone, tablet, computer, or through existing gaming systems like Xbox One. Having invested in and followed social media software for years, David knew the importance of giving users a social experience and designed Roblox to be played with friends. This helped ignite the company’s fast growth in popularity as users encouraged friends to join and advertised the game by word-of-mouth. He also created Roblox Studio, a part of the system that allows users to create their own games—and receive revenue share from their work.

Today, Roblox is worth an estimated $30 billion, which is seven times more than its valuation just one year ago—perhaps thanks to the increased number of people staying at home during the pandemic and playing video games. David retains a 13 percent stake in the company and is preparing to go public this year.
