That’s the word of the week. How often do you say it?
Saying “Yes” isn’t some cheesy, motivational-speaker-at-a-corporate-retreat advice—it’s a proven method for shifting your mindset to a more positive, service-oriented place. People who are optimistic, have confidence in their skills, and are prepared to work their asses off say “Yes” a lot.
The funny thing about the word “Yes” is the power it holds to initiate a chain of events. If you start saying “Yes” more, opportunities start to open up. You will actually become more optimistic, confident in your skills, and hard-working as a result.
Don’t believe me? Try it.
For the rest of this week, just say “Yes.” Your client wants you to re-do a project? Say “Yes.” Your boss wants you to handle something outside of your job description? Say “Yes.” Just say “Yes” to everything (within reason!) this week.
I guarantee you, by the end of this month, you’ll notice a shift in your mood, your relationships with the people around you, and the work that you’re doing.

In 1994, scientists at Sweden’s Lund University launched an oat milk product called Oatly.
The nutritious, sustainable milk alternative failed to take off until Toni, a local serial entrepreneur, happened upon it nearly two decades later.
“As an entrepreneur, if I ever want to do something, I just do it,” Toni told The CEO Magazine. “With Oatly, it was extremely simple: I decided I wanted to work for them, so I did.”
Toni took over the brand in 2012 and set off to make Oatly a household name. He pivoted the branding, graphics, and marketing technique, and launched a series of offbeat ads (Maybe you recall his infamous, “Wow, wow, no cow” Superbowl commercial?). Toni’s decision to market Oatly as quirky and insider-y worked—by 2020, Oatly was able to raise $200 million from investors like Oprah Winfrey, Natalie Portman, and former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz.
As of this week, Oatly will be available in all Starbucks locations nationwide, and the company has started the process of filing for an IPO. If they proceed, the company is expected to be valued at $10 billion.
