I’ve heard plenty of people tell me they want to cancel 2020. I understand why they feel that way. Believe me, I understand. But we still have HALF of this year left! Time is the one thing we can’t ever get back. You only have 1,440 minutes every day, and you can’t afford to waste any one of them.
No matter how bad the first half of 2020 was, we need to change our mindset about the second half. Instead of assuming the worst, I want you to do what someone with Big Money Energy would do: Don’t accept your destiny.
Manifest your destiny!
Shift your mindset to one of abundance. Act according to what you want instead of what is right now. You don’t suddenly start acting like the boss the day you become the boss. You have to act like you’re the manager in order to become the manager. As I learned from my acting days, you have to be the role before you are the role.
What role do you want to play in the second half of this year? The time is right now to decide what you want and act on it. If you want 2020 to be great, then you make it great. Act as if it’s great. Talk as if it’s great. It IS great.
Everyone wants 2020 to be over. For me, and for us in this community, it’s just begun.

With an MBA from Harvard and past roles at Ticketmaster, Evite, and Barnes & Noble, John Foley had all the right experience to launch a BIG business idea. When he founded Peloton in 2012, he had a feeling the at-home spinning concept would be that big idea.
After witnessing the huge success of spin chains like SoulCycle and Flywheel, John sought to recreate the intensity of those in-studio classes with a twist: Riders wouldn’t have to leave their homes. The Peloton model was simple: Make an initial $2,245 investment in a state-of-the-art bike, and then pay $39 for a monthly streaming service that allows you to join live classes with top instructors and compete against other riders. With boutique studios charging upwards of $30 a class, John felt certain that the convenience, privacy, and long-term price efficiency of Peloton would pay off.
John and his co-founders began with a Kickstarter, which reached its goal of $250,000 in the first month. People loved the concept from a fitness perspective, but they also saw value in the community aspect of Peloton; It was a fitness bike, yes, but it was also a status symbol and members-only club. Sales began to spike, investors increased, and Peloton reached a $4.15 billion valuation after its latest funding round in 2018.
By 2019, Peloton had a 7.3 percent market share in the fitness equipment manufacturing industry. They continued to expand, launching a treadmill in early 2020, just in time for the pandemic. In fact, at a time when boutique fitness studios are struggling to survive, John’s vision and early bet on Peloton paid off more than anyone could have known.
